I think the "Influencers" you mentioned actually have much more impact in HK, because SMS between clients of the same operator is usually free of charge. Thus, small groups of close friends are more likely to stick together with the same operator. If some someone wants to change his/her operator, he/she may want ask his/her friends to go together.
